How to Register a Car After Buying It in Mexico

1. Gather Required Documents

• Original factura (invoice) – Proof of purchase from the seller.

• CURP (Clave Única de Registro de Población) – Your unique population registry code.

• RFC (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes) – Your tax identification number.

• Proof of address – A utility bill, rental contract, or property deed.

• Valid identification – Passport or Mexican residency card.

• Previous tax receipts – Ensure all vehicle taxes (Tenencia) are paid.
